I have been teaching private cello lessons since 2001 to beginning, intermediate, and advanced students. During cello lessons students learn scales, etudes, and traditional solo repertoire. Students also have the opportunity to perform in a yearly recital. My main goal as a teacher is to develop a love of music within the student, and to support the student in whatever pathway they want to pursue through individualized instruction.
I earned my Bachelors Degree in Cello Performance from the University of Northern Colorado, and a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Regis University of Denver. I am a National Boards Certified teacher in Elementary Music with an emphasis in vocal performance. I started out my teaching career as a beginning and intermediate orchestra director at the middle school level. Currently, I teach elementary music at Grand Ridge Elementary in the Issaquah School District.
I used to live in Colorado where I played with the Fort Collins Symphony and the Loveland Chamber Orchestra. Locally, I have played with the Puget Sound Symphony Orchestra and Encore Four Quartet.
I have over 15 years of experience performing solo cello at private events including weddings, dinner parties, corporate events, and funerals. I work closely with the client to ensure that the music for their event fits their needs.
