Studio Policy

Student Responsibilities

  • Students are expected to practice daily, with an emphasis on focused, quality practice.

  • If a student consistently shows up unprepared for lessons, there is no guarantee of continuing lessons.

  • Approach lessons with curiosity, effort, and a willingness to grow.

  • Use the restroom, wash your hands, get a drink, eat a snack, and trim your fingernails before entering your lesson.

  • Bring your instrument, music, practice notebook, and any other needed supplies to all lessons.

  • Take care of your instrument. Make sure your hands are clean when you practice. After practicing, wipe your cello down with a soft cloth and remember to loosen your bow. If you notice damage to your instrument let me know.

Parent Responsibilities

  • Be on time with monthly payments.

  • Make sure your student is prompt to all lessons, and that you are on time for pick up after lessons. If you are late for the lesson, there is no guarantee that we can still have a full lesson. Repeated late pickups may result in additional charges, or dismissal from the studio.

  • Please support your student's practice by helping them set up a routine and ensuring that they have a space to practice.

  • Please use me as a resource for information if you notice your cello needs repair, or if you are considering buying a new instrument.

  • Feel free to come to me with your questions or concerns regarding lessons. Open communication is important for providing productive lessons.
